Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation and deep relaxation that helps the practitioner to relieve stress, resolve inner conflict and release pain, restoring an underlying peace of mind. It is described as the state of union of individual consciousness with supreme consciousness.
Regular Yoga Nidra practice is proven to:
- Boost the immune system, lower blood pressure, and prevent premature aging.
- Eliminate stress-related disorders and self-destructive habits.
- Release mood-elevating brain chemicals, such as endorphins and serotonin.
- Act as a natural tranquilizer to relieve stress, insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, and depression without the
negative side effects of medication.
This workshop will begin with a 45 minute interactive lecture and Q&A period, allowing participants to explore the concepts, benefits and philosophy of this ancient practice. Discussion will be followed by a brief break and a 1 hour practice.
What to bring to class:
Dress comfortably and refrain from eating a large meal 1 hour prior to the program. Please bring any props or pillows to maximize your comfort. Leave your cellular phones and worries outside the studio!
